Published: 24th Jul 2017 by Civa News

Despite a huge thunderstorm that knocked-out just about everything electrical at Szymnow airfield on Sunday, the 4-programme glider aerobatics CIVA / FAI special event at the 2017 World Games has concluded with a very popular win for Ferenc Toth of Hungary, Italian ace Luca Bertossio chasing him home a close second.

The full results are as usual on CIVA's results website at http://www.civa-results.com and there is a supporting news page from FAI at http://twg2017.airsports.aero/news/ferenc-toth-wins-gold-in-glider-aerobaticsand some vivid onboard video from Luca at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjA-6RY-au0&feature=youtu.be&list=PLyXQtZ_gjrxBU6AtdH3RHRLATIxD1VMA- interspersed with shots of the paramotorist's and canopy pilot's toe-in-the-water antics at the swoop pool.

The 11 selected glider aeros competitors from the Wroclaw event have now moved up the road to Torun to prepare for the World Glider Aerobatic Championships that start there on Thursday 27th.
