Update for WAAC and EAC

Published: 18th Jun 2021 by Nick Buckenham

We regret to confirm that the situation regarding WAAC and EAC in the Czech Republic this year remains unresolved. Despite a long series of exchanges over many months between FAI, the CIVA Bureau and the President of the Czech Aero Club, the NAC has so far failed to sign the FAI Organiser Agreements and together we have not reached a final solution.

In parallel with this complex situation the Bureau of CIVA has been vigorously pursuing alternative solutions, among them some clearly able to provide the structure we need. It is not yet time to provide details, but we are now confident that both WAAC and EAC will be able to run this year to the same or a similar timetable in an adjacent country, and of course with full Category-1 status.

Entry moneys already committed are safe and will shortly be returned to each competitor so that, when the final details are published in a few days, they will be able to refocus with the new organiser.

Further news will be circulated as soon as we are able.

Are you hosting an aerobatic event?

Our aim is to provide forward information for everyone with an interest in aerobatic competition flying.

For this however we do need your help, so please make sure that your Aerobatic Club or National Airsport Control sends us details of all competitions that are open to pilots and/or judges from other countries and we’ll add them to our Championship Calendar so that they get the widest circulation possible.

Showcase your aerobatic photos

We are always looking for photos and videos of exciting or important aerobatic moments to use as page headers or in linked articles. Simply click on the button and submit your hi-res images or videos and we’ll use whatever we can.

Of course, if you see anything else that needs an update or a change then let us know by email - contact@civa-news.com - and we’ll attend to it right away.
