I would like to officially inform you that the original Organizer Agreement for the 33rd FAI World Aerobatic Championships in Batavia has been terminated with the contracted organizer.
At the same time, the United States Aerobatic Team, the volunteer community, and the NAC remain fully committed and highly motivated to organize the Championship. As a result of their efforts, the 33rd WAC WILL GO AHEAD at a new venue at Mason City Airport, Iowa.
Having carefully reviewed the information received and considered the available alternatives, the CIVA Bureau supports the continuation of the event and the conclusion of a new Organizer Agreement with the new organizer and venue, while maintaining all other conditions unchanged.
For the future of our sport, the CIVA leadership considers it extremely important that as many pilots as possible participate in the most prestigious event in powered aerobatics.
Tamás ÁBRÁNYI, President of the FAI Aerobatics Commission (CIVA)
